About Me
My name is Kay Kraty and I am a Holistic Practitioner, Sound Therapist, Teacher and Gong Musician, holding the LGSM teaching qualification from London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I am also a certified Reiki Master Teacher for all levels of Usui and Karuna Reiki.
I started out as a theatre and voice over actor. Ten years later and living abroad I began a lengthy study of Eastern philosophy and psychology. As a child I had always felt spiritually connected, so receiving these Buddhist based teachings felt very much like coming home.
I returned to the UK in the 90s, to pioneer ‘Life Skills’ courses for sixth form students at a number of local schools. Subjects such as presentation, communication, team building and group dynamics became a series of practical and experiential weekly workshops founded on spiritual principles. Every session always included a meditation practice to bring the mind to rest.
Soon more schools wanted these self-development courses, then teachers and school heads. Next, interest spread to the corporate world, where clients included chambers of commerce, law and accountancy firms, banks and large corporates.
Alongside my work with companies and schools I had resumed my own spiritual quest, qualifying in Aura Soma Colour Therapy, Usui Reiki, Karuna Reiki, Crystal Healing, Remote Viewing, Esoteric Numerology, Psychometry, Intuitive Development, Shamanic Studies and Reiki Drum. My private practice took off enabling me to commit full-time to working as a Holistic Therapist and Teacher.
Over several years I had been ‘down-loading’ pictorial symbols of human characteristics and attributes. In 2009 these were published as Life Symbols©, 266 symbol cards divided into seven sets of 38, each set with its own handbook. Since their inception this multi-dimensional tool has been used by psychotherapists, child psychologists, counsellors and therapists to great effect.
In 2014 my friend and teacher Tim Wheater introduced me to my first gong, which led to four years of intensive advanced training with such sound luminaries as Don Conreaux, Aidan McKintyre, Jens Zygar and Mitch Nur.
Since 2015 I have been offering monthly gong baths under the name of ‘Godalming Gong Baths’. I play for yoga groups, schools, colleges, company events and special occasions such as weddings and private celebrations. I also run introductory gong training and sound healing courses, as well as continuing my private practice as listed on the Therapies and Teachings pages above.
I am blessed to have been called to this work and so grateful to those who entrust me to inform their spiritual journey in whatever way I am able. It is my absolute privilege and delight... Thank you.
